THE AIR CADET LEAGUE OF CANADA IS PLEASED TO OFFER FLYING TRAINING COMPLETION AWARD

The purpose of the Flying Training Completion Award (FTCA) is to provide cadets who were “incomplete” on the CJCR Power Pilot or Glider Pilot Course in 2022 but went on to obtain a Transport Canada license on their own. The awards are $1000 for a power pilot and $500 for a glider pilot.

Cadets must meet all the following conditions of eligibility:

  1. a) Must complete the FTCA Form ACC68.1
  2. b) A statement of approximately 300 words outlining your career goals and objectives. Explain why you are interested in pursuing your flying and/or a possible career in aviation.
  3. c) Must have been deemed “incomplete” on the CJCR 2022 Power Pilot or Glider Pilot Course;
  4. d) Must hold a current Transport Canada Private Pilot Licence or Glider Pilot Licence;
  5. e) Must be recommended by their Squadron Commanding Officer and Squadron Sponsoring Committee Chair.
  6. f) Must be a cadet on September 30th during the year of application.

Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted online by 31 December 2022 to the Air Cadet League of Canada National Headquarters. The Commanding Officer and the Squadron Sponsoring Committee Chairperson will be emailed a copy of the application, which they must both sign independently. Once signed, the document must be emailed to leaguehq@aircadetleague.com and should have the title beginning with FTCA, followed by the cadet’s name and your position. For example:

FTCA_LEVESQUE_Josée_President SSC Chair or FTCA_LEVESQUE_Josée_Commander

Award recipients will be announced on 15 February 2023.  Following the announcement, the recipient will be requested to provide a photograph or digital image (in uniform) for purposes of publicity.  The recipient also agrees to allow their application to be shared with the scholarship sponsor.

Funds for the FTCA will be distributed in the cadet’s name.

Please share the information with your respective squadrons today.
