To promote music in the Air Cadet Movement, The Air Cadet League of Canada has established annual Music Awards for outstanding Air Cadet musicians. This year two awards are presented: one to an outstanding Air Cadet Pipe Band Musician; and one to an outstanding Air Cadet Military Band Musician. Each of the recipient will be presented with $350 cash prize, sponsored by Long & McQuade Musical Instrument and a watch, offered by the RCAF Association and the Air Cadet League of Canada.

The period of consideration for nomination is from September 1 to August 31 in any training year. Squadron Commanding Officers should consult with their Squadron Sponsoring Committees, and through their Region Cadet Music Advisor, nominate as many Air Cadets as possible providing they meet the selection criteria detailed below. A Music Award Nomination Form ACC58 shall be submitted for each Cadet nominated to the Chairperson of the National Cadet Awards Committee, League Headquarters. The closing date for nominations is 30 October. The Selection Committee consists of members of the National Cadet Awards Committee which will consult with the National Music Committee. Music Awards will be announced at the latest on December 1st and presented to recipients at an appropriate time and place.

Due to the pandemic and in order to respect the sanitary measures in place, the officer may, exceptionally, authenticate the cadet in a letter that will accompany the nomination form.
