The Air Cadet League of Canada is pleased to offer

Annual Music Awards for Excellence

 

 

In order to promote music in the Air Cadet Movement, the Air Cadet League of Canada has established annual awards for outstanding Air Cadet Musicians.

Two awards are presented annually, one each to an outstanding:

(a) Air Cadet Pipe Band Musician – Air Force Association Pipe Band Award

(b) Air Cadet Military Band Musician.

 

This year it is two $350 cash award sponsored by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments.

 

The Music Awards are open to members of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets during the year of application, and they are awarded based on music abilities combined with outstanding performance as an Air Cadet.

 

Cadets must meet all of the following conditions of eligibility: 

 

  1. Must complete the Music Awards Application Form ACC58EN;
  2. Must have completed a minimum of two years of continuous service as a member of an Air Cadet Pipe Band or Military Band by the date of nomination;
  3. Must provide a statement of approximately 300 words outlining your career goals and objectives;
  4. The applicant is required to submit a video recording of the two approved pieces of music that they performed to achieve music level four or five as well as a copy (pdf) of the music sheet that is played.
  5. Must have an outstanding performance as an Air Cadet.

It is requested that a uniformed officer appear with the uniformed cadet at the beginning of the recording to verbally authenticate the identity of the cadet.  The cadet must be visible throughout the entire video recording.
