New scholarships and reminder

We are pleased to announce 2 new scholarships from our Jazz Aviation partnership for cadet graduates of the Power Pilot program! Air Cadets who are interested in pursuing a career as a commercial pilot can now apply for one of these 2 new education scholarships.

Positive Youth Development and Program Outreach

The Positive Youth Development and Program Outreach is still available to use. It is new selfpaced learning package that is being delivered to all adults working and volunteering in the Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Programs.  It is intended to strengthen support for youth and builds adult leader and volunteer capacity to support the Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Programs.

All members and volunteers are encouraged to complete this learning package. We thank you in advance for your participation.

As we embark on a new year, let us reflect on our last year of celebrating 75 years of successful youth development program. Our thoughts turn to all of you who are constantly working hard to advanced the Air Cadet program and in this holiday season spirit, we would like to thank you and wish you a great holiday season and a happy new year. May you all enjoy the holiday break and a healthy and successful year 2017!

Condolences to the family and friends of Captain Thomas McQueen

We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Captain Thomas McQueen, an RCAF CF-18 pilot who was tragically lost in a training accident on Monday November 28 near Cold Lake. Capt McQueen was a former air cadet and graduate of the Air Cadet Power Pilot Scholarship.

The Air Cadet League of Canada and all its members would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Capt McQueen, and to his cadet and Canadian Armed Forces families.

Air Cadet from PEI, member of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council!

Chris Zhou, Air Cadet from Charlottetown, PEI, has been selected to be one of the 15 leading young Canadians to become the first members of Prime Minister’s Youth Council! The Council will advise the Prime Minister on national issues such as employment, access to education, building stronger communities, climate change and clean growth. Chris was the 2014 National Effective Speaking Competition winner. Congratulations Chris!
