The Air Cadet League of Canada Announces 2019 Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity Recipient

OTTAWA, ON (July 9, 2019) – The Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) congratulates Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2) Zachary Collins who has been awarded the $3,000.00 Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity.

WO2 Collins, from 2 Vandenbos Squadron in Whitby, Ontario, harbours a special love of flying. While maintaining a fantastic academic record, Collins is also a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in Toronto. He has completed the Glider scholarship and the Canadian Forces Parachutist Course and has won the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence, the Lord Strathcona medal and the Duke of Edinburgh award. Collins plans on attending the University of Waterloo in the hopes of pursuing the Science and Aviation program.

The Air Cadet League of Canada is a civilian non-profit community based and volunteer led organization, which in collaboration with the Department of National Defence and our other partners, is dedicated to supporting the objectives of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, and to developing in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promoting physical fitness; and stimulating the interest of youth in the aviation and aerospace industry, including the air element of the Canadian Forces.
