The Air Cadet League of Canada Announces 2019 Foundation of the Air Cadet League Scholarship Recipient
OTTAWA, ON (July 10, 2019) – The Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) congratulates Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2) Nicholas Irving who has been awarded the $1,000.00 Foundation of the Air Cadet League Scholarship.
WO2 Irving, from 349 Campbellton Squadron in New Brunswick, has shown great leadership and determination in all aspects of his life. While maintaining an excellent academic record, in his spare time WO2 Irving also volunteers at his local gliding site and is a member of the band, marksmanship and biathlon team. Last summer he was a Drill and Ceremonial Instructor. In lieu of his tremendous efforts, he was awarded the Lord Strathcona medal. WO2 Irving plans on attending the Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup in the hopes of obtaining a certification in the domain of cyber-security.
The Air Cadet League of Canada is a civilian non-profit community based and volunteer led organization, which in collaboration with the Department of National Defence and our other partners, is dedicated to supporting the objectives of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, and to developing in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promoting physical fitness; and stimulating the interest of youth in the aviation and aerospace industry, including the air element of the Canadian Forces.
