The Air Cadet League of Canada Announces 2019 Alex Venables Scholarship Recipient

OTTAWA, ON (July 10, 2019) – The Air Cadet League of Canada (ACL) congratulates Warrant Officer First Class (WO1) Michaela Trevisan who has been awarded the $2,000.00 Alex Venables Scholarship in Engineering.

WO1 Trevisan, from 756 Wild Goose Squadron in Georgetown, Ontario has shown great leadership and determination in all aspects of her life. While maintaining an excellent academic record, in her spare time WO1 Trevisan also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. She is a Glider graduate and a member of the shooting team. In lieu of her tremendous efforts, she has won the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Lord Strathcona Medal. WO1 Trevisan plans to attend the University of Waterloo to pursue the Management of Engineering program.

The Air Cadet League of Canada is a civilian non-profit community based and volunteer led organization, which in collaboration with the Department of National Defence and our other partners, is dedicated to supporting the objectives of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, and to developing in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promoting physical fitness; and stimulating the interest of youth in the aviation and aerospace industry, including the air element of the Canadian Forces.
