The Air Cadet League of Canada Announces 2017 Cadet of the Year
OTTAWA, ON (September 6, 2017) – The Air Cadet League of Canada congratulates Warrant Officer Second Class (WO2) Andrew Crawford from 767 Dearman Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, in Surrey, British Columbia, who has been named the 2017 Royal Canadian Legion Air Cadet of the Year.
WO2 Crawford is an exemplary illustration of what a model cadet should be. He is an enthusiastic pilot and hardworking cadet who is well respected by his peers and commanding officer. Cadet Crawford volunteers in his community, is an avid athlete and strives to give back to the Cadet Program.
The Royal Canadian Legion Air Cadet of the Year acts as the youth representative for the annual National Remembrance Day Ceremony, held in Ottawa, Ontario. During his time in Ottawa, WO2 Crawford will be a member of the Vice-Regal Party for the National Remembrance Day Ceremonies and assist with the laying of the wreaths at the National War Memorial.
The Air Cadet League of Canada is a civilian non-profit community based and volunteer led organization which is dedicated to supporting the objectives of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, and to developing in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promoting physical fitness; and stimulating the interest of youth in the aviation and aerospace industry, including the air element of the Canadian Forces.
